MG-IP Metering Gateway is a compact multiprotocol gateway designed to integrate metering systems into IP-based building automation and energy management platforms. It combines an M-Bus to M-Bus IP gateway with a Modbus TCP/IP to Modbus RTU/ASCII gateway, enabling seamless communication between field meters and supervisory systems.
With support for both M-Bus and Modbus networks, MG-IP allows unified collection, processing, and transmission of metering data from energy, water, flow, and other utility meters into higher-level systems such as SCADA, BMS, or analytics platforms.
Gatway natively supports core M-Bus IP driver in Niagara Framework, ensuring seamless integration of M-Bus meters into Niagara Supervisory system.
Maximum Meter Capacity. Minimal Integration Effort.
The built-in M-Bus interface provides both communication and power supply for up to 60 M-Bus devices, with a total current capacity of up to 130 mA. This enables direct powering and integration of multiple meters within a single installation, significantly reducing external wiring and auxiliary power requirements.
At the same time, the Modbus gateway functionality allows integration of up to 128 Modbus RTU/ASCII slave devices into the IP network, ensuring full scalability for larger metering infrastructures.
By combining both protocols in a single device, MG-IP supports simultaneous operation of two independent gateways, enabling management of up to 180 meters in total within one compact unit.
Flexible Communication. Simple Commissioning.
MG-IP supports M-Bus TCP/IP and M-Bus UDP/IP protocols, allowing flexible data distribution across modern IP-based systems. A built-in web server and free configuration tool simplify setup, monitoring, and commissioning.
A mini USB port allows local configuration and power supply during commissioning or maintenance, making on-site testing fast and convenient.
