SfAR-1M Compact Modbus I/O Modules are designed to meet the demand for small, space-efficient I/O solutions in distributed automation systems. The “1M” refers to the standard compact housing size(circuit-braker), making these modules an ideal choice for applications where only a limited number of inputs and outputs are required.
Thanks to their small footprint, SfAR-1M modules are perfectly suited for installations where control points are spread across large areas, allowing easy placement close to field devices while minimizing wiring complexity.
Flexible Communication for Distributed Systems
The SfAR-1M series operates using Modbus RTU/ASCII over RS485, one of the most widely used communication protocols in automation. Up to 128 devices can be connected on a single bus, enabling scalable and efficient distributed system architectures.
With 7 available module types offering 2 to 4 I/O points, the series provides flexibility for simple control and monitoring tasks. These modules are ideal for applications such as environmental monitoring, small equipment control, or distributed systems like irrigation, where data from sensors (e.g., temperature or humidity) is collected and used to control actuators such as valves.

SfAR-1M modules are designed for ease of installation and operation. A built-in mini USB port allows quick configuration using the SfAR Configurator without requiring external power. LED indicators provide clear visualization of I/O status, simplifying diagnostics and maintenance.
The modules feature opto-isolation between I/O, power supply, and RS485 communication, ensuring stable and reliable performance in industrial environments. A wide power supply range (10–38 V DC or 10–28 V AC) increases installation flexibility.
